No Need

One of my favorites from last Summer…

Cytherean Dreams

No need to scream out to the stars.

No need to hide away.

No need to wonder if you’ll see

these words I write today.

No need to cross my heart and hope

that you will hold me dear.

No need to purge pain from the past

or wallow in my fear.

For you have brought a peace and calm

to light my future bright.

I know you’ll be my steadfast friend,

my comfort, and my knight.

No need to fear you leaving me.

Your brilliant love is all I see.

Daily Prompt: I’m Grateful for You

Grateful for my knight, my partner, my true love.

Cytherean Dreams

Daily Prompt

I’m Grateful for You

A perfect line
from a throwaway movie
a romantic comedy
no one saw but me, but
it had my favorite people
and my favorite setting and
silliness ensued and
John says to Julia
after all the craziness,
I’m grateful for you.
And they lived happily
ever after? Probably not
with these two and
this family and the press
and the scandal but
they were happy, and real
living together,
grateful for the sun
grateful for the moon
grateful for the stars
and grateful for you.

Shallow

I know you’re not shallow.
I saw the depths in
your azure eyes, felt
the spiral of energy
flowing through your spine
when our third eyes blinked
melded together and
our root energies entwined
a deep embrace falling
through the center of the earth
through our centers, our heavens
unfolding in mystical spectrum
you’re as deep as infinity falling
through the stars, but
living now, as if all you see
is the physical, here, and now,
living in three pale dimensions
leaving behind the full spectrum
you once held, when you held me,
awaiting your touch
to burst forth again.

The Everything

You are the everything,
inscribed in my ring.
A song he once gave me
my young heart to sing.

I was his everything
his moon and his stars
his life in my hands
his home became ours.

But being his everything
wasn’t enough.
I drowned, suffocating
expected to stuff

My feelings, my everything
down deep inside.
I did what was expected
of me, of his bride.

So being his everything
wasn’t for me,
I know, now alone,
on this winding journey.

Chasm

Last line of the chapter – “The mystic quest in Judaism is the effort to bridge the abyss between God and the world by healing the rift within God.” David S. Ariel

Cytherean Dreams

The air is thick today
swimming through pain
from last year
two years
when the rifts
became canyons
insurmountable and filled
with sharp crags
making passage through
impossible.
Even for me.
I’ve traversed pools
of lava, burning
anger from years
of lies and betrayals
and come out unscathed.
I’ve leapt through
years of time
to bring a star
back into its orbit
and rejoice in its
illuminating glow
once again.
I’ve travelled across oceans
to heal and bring
the purity of water
to refresh the broken
for the long road ahead.
But this chasm
is beyond my powers
and I just sit at the edge
watching my tears
fall into the depths.

When I Knew

It wasn’t when I laughed
and named you perfect
in my eyes.
It wasn’t when
I held you and
you took your place
where no other had been
on the right side
reading my thoughts and
answering them aloud,
exploring heights of rapture.
It wasn’t when you grinned
uplifted with my family
so natural in
my most sacred space.
It wasn’t when I
showed you, told you
all my secrets
leading you on a tour
through my world.
No, I knew
I loved you
when I trembled
looking up at the
stars of violet crystal
and knew, felt
you had decided
the end would be today,
and my heart broke
and I realized
how much you meant.
Maybe telling you then
would have changed the story
but
I had already
shown too much.
And you were already gone.
